Beardown is one of the longest established NFL UK fan clubs, and is a community of knowledgable fans of the Chicago Bears. The heart of the site is the forum, but we offer news, podcasts, opinion columns and organise group trips to games.

Established in mid 1990′s as a mail list, by Darren Conway, we were then known as Bearing Up. Bearing Up provided a regular fanzine for the NFL UK fans of the Chicago Bears. In the late 1990′s Beardown then became an NFL UK yahoo egroup and then moved to an online forum in 2003. Since then it has flourished and has become the largest Chicago Bears fan community outside of the USA.

We are predominantly made up of UK and European based Chicago Bears fans and have a thriving forum where knowledgable football fans exchange views.

2011 was a great year for our fan club, where we enjoyed the visit of the Chicago Bears to the UK for the annual NFL International Series game at Wembley. That weekend marked our first game of touch football against another NFL UK fanclub, Buc Power, which was enjoyed by all. As a result of our size and support, we obtained fantastic seats from the NFL right behind the Bears sideline to watch the game.

2012 marked the first Beardown group visit to Soldier Field to see the Chicago Bears play the Seattle Seahawks.

2013 has to International series games at Wembley and Beardown will be there.

Alright lads. I’ve been following the NFL since the early 80s. Heading over to London this weekend and can’t wait. Let’s hope Cutler and the offence keep things going forward from last week. Come ON THE BEARS!!
